Like any other vehicle on the road in Central Florida, dump trucks require proper insurance. Dump truck insurance falls into its own subset, but nevertheless is considered commercial insurance. Most companies that offer home and car insurance also cover all your commercial needs. This means dump truck owners and operators have access to reputable companies and consumer reports based on their customer satisfaction ratings. Drivers can make an informed decision based on facts and consumer opinions.
State Farm Insurance is America’s largest private auto insurer, and also in a top 50 Fortune 500 company. Their premiums appear to be about in the middle when compared to other major insurers. Consumers seem satisfied overall. J.D. Power gives the company 3 out of 5 on average.
Geico is also known by its corporate name of Berkshire Hathaway. This insurer markets strong advertisements with the help of a catchy slogan and little green lizard. Its premiums are reported somewhere in the middle, and Consumer Reports states claimants are very satisfied overall. However, it’s nowhere to be found on J.D.’s list. Consumer Affairs gives it only 2 out of 5 stars.
The “you’re in good hands” company comes in at number three on the list of private providers. Interestingly enough, Allstate has been around since the 1930’s, and is dedicated to hiring women and minorities. J.D. Power rates the company at one of the highest in:
- Overall satisfaction
- Policy offerings
- Billing and payment
The fourth-largest provider is Progressive Insurance. This provider is probably best known for its spokeswoman Flo and her price comparison tool. Many users reported premiums to be on the higher side, but with high customer satisfaction.
Although USAA offers commercial insurance for your dump truck, only the following people qualify for coverage:
- A member of the U.S. military
- An honorably discharged veteran
- A family member or descendant of an active solider or veteran
It’s reported that this company offers low-cost insurance options with consistently high ratings. In fact, Consumer Reports gave it 92 out of 100 in overall satisfaction rating, ranking second on the list.
